Working under the handle Beastie + Bone, Stacia creates illustrations and “paper taxidermy” pieces that transform the anatomical into art, the wild a source of solace. Compassion towards her chronic health issues and a love for the natural wonders she has encountered throughout the United States inform her every project. Though born in the Midwest, she achieved a certificate in Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design, relocated to the Pacific Northwest to explore its mountains and coastlines, and soon will be heading to Tennessee with her husband to find new forests and fields to draw inspiration from.
